"Etoile" means "star", and if it's the second name of this square (which is round!), it's because of its shape: the Arc de Triomphe in the middle, an uninterrupted flow of vehicules turning around it, and 12 avenues starting from that point and going in all directions, like the lights of a star! But the star of those avenues is the Champs-Elysées of course, that you can walk down after climbing the Arc de Triomphe stairs. And, if after a few purchases in shops and a few rests in cafés or restaurants, you still have energy, nothing will stop you to go straight to Place de la Concorde, Tuileries Gardens, and the Louvre museum! Don't forget vitamins and cafeine!
